Breaking Boundaries

6.6.10 isn’t the winning 4D number (But it just might be xD) It’s the date of Team H.E.L.P!’s FIRST EVER STREET SALES. rawr. After which we completed two more streetsales with a total take of almost six thousand dollars! So for those who came down, THANK YOU. Those who didn’t SHAME ON YOU (: but you can always repent by signing up for the rest of the street sales!

As the first week of street sales comes to final closure, our team made mistakes, faced numerous dilemmas and encountered arduous tasks. BUT WE OVERCAME THEM ALL IN THE VERY END AS A TEAM. of twenty very awesome people from seven schools. And of course we learnt from our mistakes, much to contrary belief.

But it wasn’t all work and no play, WE HAD FUN TOO! Going around giving hugs for a dollar, selling hand-made silk cocoon tulips and making friends with the volunteers (:

I’m pretty sure there’s a lot more stuff left out in this post. But to truly find out for yourself, you’ve got to SIGN UP AS A VOLUNTEER by clicking on the blogroll on the right. See you there!

Advocating Amalgamation

Hey everyone (:

Thanks for bothering to view our blog! hehe you wont regret it. Cause you just added to the stats at the bottom right^^

So why the title. We wanna act cheem, alliterate, and exhibit a point with two words! It also embodies is our core objective, to encourage the mixing of people to foster better collaboration, cooperation and teamwork. Why? Cause we’re one family striving towards one goal. When you join us as a volunteer, you join a family of fun-loving crazies with a cause, and we play a passing game, not a solo, Michael Jordan game (that would be awesome though) Yeah, we really cannot further underline the importance of the ability for all of us to work together.

Secondly, we wanna remove stereotypes about children with cancer. 80% of which can be cured. yes. EIGHTY PERCENT. cancer is no disease, and just cause that kid permanently wears a cap, doesn’t mean that letting your child play with him/her would lead to your child getting the same ‘disease’. Sadly, this is a major misconception, amongst numerous others, and all these misguided information inevitably leads to children with cancer to feel lonely and prejudiced against. Cancer is not a disease, and it cannot spread. What we can spread, is the truth about cancer and children with cancer. So join us in our project to help raise awareness and spread the message!
